Last night, a packed meeting of residents of Runnymede Road, Ruskin Road and surrounding parts of Stanford le Hope called Anglian Water to account over its inaction over problems of overflowing sewerage and drainage.
Called by Councillor Terry Hipsey, the meeting at the Welcome Club heard from Thurrock Council and Anglian Water officials and demanded action from Anglian Water to stop the continual instances of sewerage flooding into people’s homes and streets when it rains.
Angela Smith has agreed to join local councillors in calling on the Environment Agency to take legal action if Anglian Water do not make the necessary improvements.
